I purchased this computer (pictured left) a little over a year ago. It was a good machine with an AMD® Ryzen® 5 4600G CPU and onboard Radeon graphics, but it was very middle-of-the-road as I had the intention of upgrading it later. When I opened the case to add a graphics card (GPU), there were no additional power connections to support a GPU. The power supply (PSU) was so small, there was no space for a PSU upgrade. So, I purchased a new mid-tower case (pictured right) with the intention of moving the existing motherboard and installing a new PSU. The motherboard did not fit because it was not standard - it was a manufacturer-customized motherboard designed only to fit that particular case - AND, the heatsink was confirgured for an Intel Heatsink bracket. I purchased and installed a new ASUS® TUF motherboard, transferred the CPU, installed a GPU, RGB fans, new PSU, and additional RAM. I am extremely pleased with the new RIG - now with a new GPU, double the RAM, better airflow due to the new case (better cable management, mesh front, isolated PSU space) and additional fans. It runs smoother and faster, my son gets a higher FPS on Fortnite, and it looks awesome.

New Mid-Tower PC Case w/glass side panel, mesh front: $79
New ASUS® TUF AM4 Motherboard: $106
3 RGB Fans w/remote: $25
Added 16 Gb DDR4 RAM: $69
NEW 750w PSU: $50
New Tower Heatsink/Fan: $39
Total: $368

This computer (pictured left) was my primary computer for years. An HP® with an Intel® i7-4770, GeForce® 1060, and 32Gb RAM. Last year I got a new computer and used this one as a standby, still good enough to keep around. Recently, it died - would not boot, etc. I was pretty confident the CPU, RAM, and GPU were in good shape (the first thing I did was to swap out GPUs several times and neither worked). So, I ordered a new motherboard and new PC case. I was determined to ressurect this machine. It was hard to find a mainstream motherboard like ASUS®, ASRock®, Gigabyte®, etc. as this processor was pretty old (no Windows 11). I finally chose the best foreign-made Z97 1155 motherboard I could locate and installed it in the case, transferred the processor, transferred the RAM, installed a new SSD (upgrade from the new motherboard), bought a new PSU, and new RGB fans. I reinstalled Windows 10 alongside Linux Mint and it runs way faster than before this upgrade, and the new look is great.

New Mid-Tower PC Case w/ glass side panel, mesh front and top: $79
New Z97 1155 Motherboard: $89
4 RGB Fans w/remote: $30
New 750w PSU: $50
New Wifi/Bluetooth PCIe Card: $35
Total: $283
